Za’atar Olive Oil Dip

1 tbsp District Spice Za’atar blend
3/4 cup olive oil
2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
Bread or pita

Pour olive oil into shallow dish, add balsamic vinegar, and top with District Spice Za’atar blend.

Serve with pieces of bread or pita.


District Spice Chicken Thighs

Recommended Blends: Adana, BBQ, Chili Dust, Congressional Grilling, Currying Favor, Jamaican Jerk, Memphis BBQ, Montreal, Nice & Naughty, Plov, Pork Barrel, Poultry, Ranch, SouthWest, Tuscan/Tuscan Heat, Za’atar

District Spice blend (see above for recommended blends)
Bone-in skin on chicken thighs
Coarse ground salt (optional)

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees on bake.

Place chicken thighs on baking rack, in baking pan.

Sprinkle District Spice blend over tops of thighs until coated. Give a very light sprinkle of coarsely ground salt over the tops of thighs (optional).

Bake for 45 minutes using top oven rack, or until cooked through. Cool for 10 minutes and serve.

Chicken Thighs Jerk
(Chicken thighs with Jamaican Jerk, just before baking)

District Spice Scrambled Eggs

Serves 4

1 tbsp District Spice blend (see below for recommended blends and optional add-ins)
8 eggs
2-3 oz. shredded cheddar cheese
Recommended Blends & Optional Add-ins:

– Chili Dust: 1 cup black beans, 1/4-1/2 cup diced onions

– Creole: cheese only

– SouthWest: salsa & sour cream or plain Greek yogurt (add these after cooking, to taste)

– Taco/Taco Heat: 4 oz cooked ground beef, 1/4-1/2 cup diced onions, sour cream or plain Greek yogurt (after cooking, to taste)

Break all 8 eggs into a bowl, add District Spice blend, and scramble thoroughly.

Add eggs to a hot pan and scramble, mixing in add-ins as desired.

Serve hot.

Hand in the Cookie Jar Oatmeal

Makes 2 servings

1 tbsp District Spice Hand in the Cookie Jar blend
1 cup dried oats
2 cups water
1 apple, coarsely chopped (crunchy varietal, such as a pink lady or honeycrisp, recommended)

Combine oats and water in a pot, and bring to boil.

When about half finished, mix in District Spice Hand in the Cookie Jar blend.

Just before turning off the heat, stir in chopped apple.

Serve hot.

Tuscan Turkey Meatballs

1.5 tbsp District Spice Tuscan or Tuscan Heat blend
1.5 pounds ground turkey
1 egg
1/4 diced white onion
Optional: 2 tbsp bread crumbs

  1. Preheat oven to bake at 350.
  2. In a bowl or power mixer, mix all ingredients until well blended.
  3. Form balls 1-2″ in diameter by passing meat between the palms of your hands (meat will be sticky), and place each ball into the space of a cupcake or mini-cupcake tin.
  4. Bake for 45 minutes.

Makes approximately 10 meatballs when using a mini-cupcake tin.



Serves 4-6

1 tbsp District Spice Taco or Taco Heat blend
1 lb ground beef (or your choice of protein)
8 corn tortillas or lettuce/cabbage leaves
4 oz shredded cheese (optional)
Shredded lettuce, romaine recommended (optional)
Sour cream or plain Greek yogurt (optional)

Add Taco/Taco Heat blend and ground beef to pan and cook until brown and crumbled.

While cooking, heat corn tortillas either in separate pan or microwave.

Add beef to corn tortillas. Serve with cheese, lettuce, and sour cream/Greek yogurt (and any other toppings you want) to taste.
